These breif selection of recordings were recorded by my father, Erik Ozolins, in conversation with his father, Guntis "Sam" Ozolins, while Sam was in a hospital in Cincinnati.

E: I was asking about your house in Riga

G: Oh yeah, oh yeah.

E: And so your dad, so your dad worked in Riga, you said.

G: No, he worked- yeah, Riga or somewhere around there. He was sort of like the regional, agricultural, super -tendent thing

E: Okay.

G: My mother ran the farm.

E: Okay.

G: And I don't remember a thing about my grandparents although they lived in the house.

E: Okay. But all of you guys lived together?

G:Yeah.

E: and where was like Konstantīns and Janis…

G: Well they were in Latvia (unintelligible)

E: Riga?

G: Yeah

E: okay, so Ingrid was in Riga.

G: Yeah, except for the summers or such

E: come up for the summers or holidays

G: yeah

E: So how did your dad or your dad and mom run the farm it was it was it because they were the agronomists and so it made sense that they take over Grandpa's farm.
